Nationwide (BlackNews.com) – In 2016, urban entertainment will continue to garner increasing recognition by audiences but Hollywood has not quite yet ‘taken the plunge’… not just yet, but thats all about to change. The co-producing team of Wilson Mbiavanga, an award winning director and screenwriter and veteran producer, Pierre Bagley, has recognized the opportunity that the market is presenting.

According to industry trends, the urban market is the primary consumer of media and entertainment and also influences and leads the market in the areas of sports and fashion.

Wilson and Bagley state that Hollywood is not providing enough product to address this very profitable market. Bagley has spent his career directing, writing, and producing projects that provide a disruptive change in films and television, he most recently wrote, produced and directed the motion picture From the Rough, starring academy award nominees, Taraji P. Henson, Michael Clarke Duncan, and British actor Tom Felton (Harry Potter).

The two are current working on the political drama series Enlightenments which is already getting buzz around the industry, the series centers on two secret organizations and their clash for domination in Washington D.C.

Wilson, who will direct the series, says, Enlightenments is about the light and the darkness in us but how we bind the concept of light and darkness which makes us weak and powerful, in another words… human.

Because of Wilsons passion for creating provocative entertainment and his vision for the market, he has carefully selected his team which includes his longtime collaborator and assistant director, the Turkish filmmaker Nergis Senturk who is currently working on Wilsons project Enlightenments.

Wilson says that market potential is key when creating quality relevant content, his strategy is two fold, based on the genre we are developing we have the potential to capture a large portion of the urban contemporary audience and use that demographic to ignite the general market. Wilsons slate of projects with DC Media Groups Bagley, includes a number of television and film projects that will showcase multicultural talent and topics.
