Residents across Chicago will react to Rauner’s State of the State Address, and then March on Corporate Beneficiaries of Governor’s Failed Agenda

On Wednesday, community leaders from organizations across the city will gather to share personal testimonies on the devastating impact of Governor Bruce Rauner’s first year in office.  They will assess Rauner’s key statements from his State of the State address earlier that day, and outline demands for progressive revenue solutions.

An indoor rally, followed by two marches to corporations profiting from Illinois budget crisis will be held Wednesday, January 27th, 2016:

3:30pm – participants gather at Grace Place

4:00pm – program begins (testimonials and solutions)

Currently, Illinois is more than halfway through the fiscal year and Springfield has yet to pass a budget. In the absence of a budget, state payments for many essential services have been halted, significantly delayed, or faced dramatic cuts. This has had disastrous impact for the state’s social service infrastructure and working families across the state.
