WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Tuesday, October 20, 2015, Congressional Black Caucus Chairman G. K. Butterfield sent a letter on behalf of all 46 CBC Members to outgoing Speaker of the House of Representatives John Boehner to encourage him to prioritize and address time-sensitive legislative items and urge that he fully address issues affecting the African American community before the end of his leadership tenure.

The letter discusses the importance of immediate action on issues and priorities that include African American unemployment, criminal justice reform, restoring the Voting Rights Act (VRA), and investing in education and job training for future generations.
