The Biden Momentum Grows

Posted by Admin On September - 15 - 2015

This weekend, there is more news about the increased activity around the Vice President’s possible candidacy for the White House.

Polling from both CBS/You Gov and Washington Post/ABC demonstrate real fluidity in the election and an opening for the Vice President.

The stories below highlight the real work being done by Draft Biden and other allies of the Vice President to build a campaign as he works through his own process.

Biden Secretly Meets With Top Obama Bundler During New York Swing. According to Bloomberg, while in NYC Vice President Biden partook in a private, one-on-one session with one of the most prominent and powerful fundraising stars in the Democratic firmament—mega-bundler Robert Wolf. “The Biden-Wolf meeting is just one more sign of the rapid acceleration of planning and preparations going on all throughout Bidenworld—the scramble to create a campaign-in-waiting. The V.P. and his team have come to believe that there is scant doubt an electoral opening exists for a Biden candidacy. And their collective sense of confidence that, in purely practical terms, an effective national campaign apparatus can be built is nearly total.” [Bloomberg, 9/14/15]

Joe Biden Supporters Ramp Up a Campaign-in-Waiting. Vice President Biden’s aides and supporters are showing intensifying signs of a campaign-in-waiting. “Democratic fundraisers are working to recruit donors and lock down financial commitments. Mr. Biden’s aides are sketching out plans for potential hires in key primary states and considering which of the vice president’s longtime allies would work for a campaign and which would oversee a Biden super PAC.” Signals of interest from top Obama fundraisers, private meetings, a ramped up public schedule, and the growth of Draft Biden are keeping supporters hopeful and encouraged; “Mr. Biden’s advisers and supporters are proceeding as if he soon could be running, underscoring a growing belief that a campaign launch remains a real possibility.” [Wall Street Journal, 9/13/15]
