The American Dream on Hold: Economic Challenges in the African American Community

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman G. K. Butterfield, Chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney, Ranking Democrat on the U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee (JEC), and Congressman Elijah E. Cummings, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, will hold a public forum and press conference in Baltimore, Maryland on Tuesday, June 23, 2015, beginning at 9:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. to discuss the impact of economic challenges and persistent inequities facing African American communities across the country.

Reps. Butterfield, Maloney and Cummings will be joined by members of the Congressional Black Caucus, the Joint Economic Committee, House Democratic members of the Maryland Delegation, and community leaders.

Participants will hold a press conference immediately following the event.
