“Hands of Yemen Protest” Saturday, April 25, 2015

From: People United

CHICAGO, IL –  People United, a grass root group, will hold a “Hands of Yemen” event in Chicago to condemn the Saudi Government and their Coalition on its unprovoked aggression against the people of Yemen. They will be joined by A.N.S.W.E.R. Chicago, Anti War Committee of Chicago, World Can’t Wait and other anti war organizations.

The airstrikes under operation “Decisive Storm” led by the Saudi’s started a month ago on March 26th, 2015 and has targeted hospitals, schools, mosque, residential areas and refugee camps which crippled the  impoverished nation of Yemen. As a result of these military operations, 150,000 Yemeni citizen have been displaced homes. The coalition consists of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, Jordan, Morocco, Egypt, and Sudan. Unfortunately, our government has supported this act of aggression against Yemen.

The massacre of young innocent lives has left families torn apart and a nation in mourning leading to mass protest on the streets of Yemen with little media coverage.  Since Saudi Arabia launched the attack over 1,000 people have lost their lives (Source W.H.O) including hundreds of children. We are requesting your presence to give a voice to the oppressed people of Yemen & condemn the Saudi Coalition for their brutal crimes against humanity.

We  will be gathering at the corner of Washington St. & Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL, at 3:00 PM on Saturday, April 25th, 2015. We request your presence and coverage of this event.
