Dayle Gillett, Senior Executive with The Inland Real Estate Group of Companies, Inc., to Receive Better Business Bureau Torchbearer Award

CHICAGO, IL – Dayle Gillett, a senior executive with The Inland Real Estate Group of Companies, Inc., (“Inland”) will receive the Torchbearer Award which is the highest honor from the Better Business Bureau serving Chicago and Northern Illinois (“BBB”) at the 88th Annual Dinner, being held at the Chicago Downtown Marriott on Thursday, March 19, 2015.

“The most prestigious honor that all active BBB supporters strive for is the Torchbearer Award,” says Steve Bernas, president & CEO of the Better Business Bureau serving Chicago and Northern Illinois. “It is presented to a business leader in our community who has made great efforts to assist the BBB in spreading business self-regulation and promoting ethical business practices.”

Dayle Gillett has served as Vice President and Director of Public Relations for the past 25 years for The Inland Real Estate Group of Companies, Inc. Headquartered in Oak Brook, this group is comprised of separate real estate investment and financial companies with managed assets in excess of $20 billion. Inland is one of the nation’s largest real estate organizations.

Bernas explained that Gillett has been a member of the Board of Directors at the BBB since 1991. In those 24 years, he said that she has been an exceptionally active participant and a strong supporter of the BBB.

In addition to her work with the BBB, Gillett has been very active in a whole host of real estate, civic and charitable organizations. These include being a founding director of the New Directions Housing Corporation, which develops and rehabs housing for low income residents; serving on the DuPage Airport Authority Board of Directors for 20 years; a Jury Commissioner of DuPage County; a member of the Chairman’s Advisory Board; and Chairman of the Inland Charities Foundation.

“Dayle Gillett is a true community treasure,” says Bernas. “The BBB greatly appreciates all of her efforts. We are very fortunate to have such a giving and talented person as Dayle Gillett supporting the BBB.”
