Mission: Veteran 2 Entrepreneurs (MV2E)

BELLEVILLE, IL – The next Mission: Veterans 2 Entrepreneurs Training Seminar will be Tuesday, April 29, at the Belleville Campus of Southwestern Illinois College (SWIC). This event is an exceptional, no-cost opportunity for veteran business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs to network with like-minded professionals and obtain expert training honed to their individual business aspirations. This event is hosted by the Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs, Illinois Central Management Services, and Southwestern Illinois College.

Attendees will have the opportunity to choose from one of three tracks based on where their business is in the entrepreneurial process (i.e. concept stage, start-up, or established):

TRACK 1: INITIAL BUSINESS CONCEPTS

What does it take to start and manage a successful business? What are the first steps? This track is designed for aspiring veteran entrepreneurs in the initial stages of the business process. Business experts will give you the initial guidance you need, teach you about how to start an enterprise in today’s fast-paced economy, and help you launch your idea into action. With presenters from:

Southwestern Illinois College and Elite SDVOB Network.

TRACK 2: STRENGTHENING YOUR BUSINESS

This track is geared toward helping fledgling businesses grow. This includes expert instruction on business loans, financing, and access to capital, and also direct guidance on how businesses can apply for and obtain government contracts by taking advantage of Illinois’ Veteran Business Program.

With presenters from: U.S. Small Business Administration, Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity, and Illinois Central Management Services.

TRACK 3: IMPROVING YOUR BUSINESS

Whether a business is well-established or still in the early stages, this track provides expert guidance on key topics important to any small business, including the importance of mentorship, having an online presence, and human resources. These sessions will help you build on early successes and give you new ideas for expansion and efficiency. With presenters from: SCORE and Elite Human Resources Team
