(Letters to Editors)

Greetings from CSUN!

With the recent death of the revered statesman Nelson Mandela, I came across many articles on the legacy that he left in this world.  In the midst of my reading I came across this quote from him:

“Lead from the back – and let others believe they are in the front.”

I think about the work we do at California State University, Northridge – making sure that students are given a chance at an education, given a chance to succeed in life and in the world.  Many of our students are given this opportunity by generous individuals who have remembered CSUN in their estate plans.  While these young men and women are pursuing their goals and aspirations on campus, propelling them is the legacy of someone who cared.  Behind those students is a gift that allowed them to take advantage of all that this incredible institution has to offer.

Our Heritage Society members are certainly leading from the back and allowing our students to believe that they are in the front.  If you want to guide the future generation of students to lead in their communities, consider creating your legacy with CSUN.  If you have already made plans for CSUN in your estate plans, contact us so we can make sure your gift is planned according to your wishes.

As we near the completion of this year, we hope you reflect on memories that warm your heart.  And as we look into the new year, we wish you health, happiness and peace to come.
