Additional notable industry powerhouses to lead church-oriented arts and entertainment workshops at annual conference



DALLAS, TX – Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins joins Bishop Jakes annual leadership conference, adding to the all-star lineup of entertainment industry experts who will be sharing first-hand insight on the ins and outs of music production, songwriting, music business, technology, and much more.


Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins is best known for number one hits for world-renowned artists including: The Winans, Mary Mary, Yolanda Adams, Kirk Franklin, Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, and Michael Jackson, to name a few.


The Potter’s House’s own Grammy®Award-winning record producer, Myron Butler, Stellar and Dove Award-nominated producer, Marcus Dawson, and Jamar Jones, super producer, composer, and Executive Director of Music, will be on hand to discuss all aspects of music in ministry. The conference will be held April 25-27, 2013 at the Dallas Convention Center.

  • Gaye Arbuckle, Winner of two Texas Gospel Music Excellence Awards, Gaye Arbuckle has proven herself to be a gifted writer and Gospel soloist. Gaye has lent her vocals to such artists and groups as the Mississippi Mass Choir, Gospel Music Workshop of America, Greg O’Quin, and more. Gaye is currently the minister of music of Concord Church in Dallas where she leads praise and worship on any given Sunday.
  • Kurt Carr and the Kurt Carr Singers, Kurt Carr Singers under Kurt Carr’s direction and musical influence have created six critically acclaimed albums. Carr, four-time Stellar award-winner, music is an interesting blend of traditional Gospel composition and vocals, elements of R&B, jazz, soul, blues, and the distinct modern harmonies and singing styles found in Urban Contemporary Gospel.
