Defend the Vote, the groundbreaking Illinois election integrity organization that empowers citizens to protect elections, Â announces they will be conducting the first-ever professional security and vulnerability assessment for Chicago and Suburban Cook County election systems. Argonne National Laboratoryâ€™s, Vulnerability Assessment team will be conducting the vulnerability assessment of Chicago and Cook County election security. This project, which begins in September, will test and evaluate the security of voting processes and systems in both Chicago and Cook County.Â A report will be out before the November elections with short term and long term recommendations.Â Wednesdayâ€™s 2pm press conference at the Union League Club brings together Election Pioneer, Jack Roeser, who has provided funding for this project, Dr. Roger Johnston, Ph.D., CPP, head of the Vulnerability Assessment Team (VAT) at Argonne National Laboratory, and Defend the Vote staff to announce this exciting development.Â Details of the study will be released on Wednesday at the press conference.
