Chicago Heights, IL –  Journalist Chinta Strausberg, a journalist of more than 33 years, a former political reporter, a current PCC Network talk show host, and a Contributing Writer to several publications, including CopyLine Magazine, will be honored “For Outstanding Contribution to the Faith-Base and Community” during Brothers Keeper Outreach Church’s Black History Month Celebration.

Strausberg, an icon in the field of Journalism, will be honored along with other honorees – Dr. Gregory Wright, who will receive the Academic and Community Leadership award; Charles “Chuck” Bowen, For Outstanding Contribution to the Faith-Base and Community; and Angela Greene, For Outstanding Contribution Services to the Community, Adults and Adolescences.

Illinois Governor Pat Quinn, “who has shown empathy to the community for hard economic times in signing the Fair Credit Catch 22 Bill,” will be the keynote speaker at the event. Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle and several others will attend as special guests.

 The event will be held Sunday, February 19, 2012, 3:30 p.m., at the Brothers Keeper Outreach Church, 283 E. 14th Street, Chicago Heights, IL.

 This year’s Black History Month Celebration theme is “Honoring Our Champions of the 21st Century.”

Chief Apostle Dr. William McCoy is the Founder and Overseer of the Brothers Keeper Outreach Church.
