Chicago, IL – Illinois Republican Party Chairman Pat Brady issued the following statement regarding the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics June Employment Report that showed only 18,000 new jobs created nationwide, which is far below population growth:

“These dismal numbers show that America is not getting the hope and change it was promised.

“Our economy is in a shambles and President Obama and his Democratic colleagues in Washington and Springfield have no plan to fix it.

“The only thing good for President Obama is that this news was released on a Friday – Pat Quinn Style. He obviously learned how to increase unemployment during his time in Springfield.”

ILGOP Note: Unemployment has remained above 8 percent every month President Obama has been in office and it is now at 9.2%.
